Friar Alessandro Announces Mini Tour of Europe
Decca Records is pleased to announce that over the next few months Friar Alessandro will be appearing in concert at various venues in several European countries.
This mini-tour commences in the city of Budapest in Hungary where he will appear in the Basilica of St. Stephen on 20th February. The Basilica is the largest in Hungary with a capacity of more than 8000 people and the concert will be held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Hungary and the Papal Nuncio to Budapest. It will be Friar Alessandro’s first visit to Hungary, a country to which his family traces its roots and therefore will be very significant for him.
From Hungary, Friar Alessandro will then move on to Croatia, where he has been engaged to perform at the country’s most prestigious venue, the Lisinski Hall in Zagreb. Friar Alessandro will be the main attraction at the event to be held on 25th February. As his guest Friar Alessandro will have the noted Croatian tenor, Ivo Gamulin Gianni.
Friar Alessandro will travel to Ireland after performing in San Giovanni Rotondo in Puglia, Italy on the 15th March. He will perform there at the request of the Irish Franciscan Friars, in their churches in Dublin and Cork, as well as in the cathedral in Galway City. The tour of Ireland commences on St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, and finishes with the concerts in Galway on the 21st March and Cork on the 22nd.
In April Friar Alessandro will begin his collaboration with the Ensemble Symphony Orchestra directed by Giacomo Loprieno in the major Italian cities. This series of concerts will begin in Florence on 5th April at the Verdi Theatre (Teatro Verdi) and continue with a trip to the National Theatre (Teatro Nazionale) in Milan. The trio of concerts will conclude on the 14th May in the nation’s capital at the Brancaccio Theatre (Teatro Brancaccio) in Rome.
