Friar Alessandro

Monday 14th of November 2016

After a highly successful Christmas concert in the Russian capital at the end of last season, Friar Alessandro will switch attention to the United States for a series of Christmas concerts this year. The first two are to be held in New York on 13th and 15th December at St. Athanasius’ Church, Brooklyn and at St. Margaret’s Church, Queens, respectively. He then moves to Ohio where he is to perform at St. Charles Borromeo Church, in Parma on Sunday 18th December. The events mark an increasing interest on the part of North America in the Singing Friar who made several appearances in Canada last year resulting in his Voice of Joy album appearing in the Christmas pop charts there. This interest will undoubtedly increase with the proposal to broadcast his next concert in Assisi on the American PBS channel in the coming year.

The Christmas season will also be marked by the release of the compilation CD “O Holy Night” which includes six tracks not previously released on CD, and featuring the title track and one other performed with the accompaniment of the world renowned Vienna Boys’ Choir. The album, already available in Italy, can be obtained from Amazon or iTunes.

Friar Alessandro’s schedule which started again with a concert in the principality of Monaco, and events in Milan and the cathedral of Cologna Veneta in Italy will continue after the above mentioned concerts in Assisi and the USA with a trip to Malta to sing for the President of the country at a benefit concert for the Malta Community Chest Fund in February. Further appearances projected for 2017 are to include events in Europe, the USA, as well as further afield to Singapore, Malaysia and Australia towards the end of the year.
